You will not find any Patent Art like this. I carefully select each patent for its historical and artistic value. Often, different parts of a patent document are bundled together in one fine print. I painstakingly remove most of the defects and flaws in the original document and perform extensive digital restoration while maintaining the integrity of the original patent. This will make the font clear and crisp - almost like the day it was submitted. I do not use regular printers or paper to print this art. Instead, I use a high quality lab and professional photo prints are made using high quality archival inks and Luster acid free archival paper. Luster is an excellent finish on heavier paper and provides bright, glossy colors with a fingerprint-resistant coating. This prevents the print from flashing.

Prints are packaged to prevent damage during shipping. Prints are usually flat packed (not wrapped) and shipped in a hard box with material to protect the finished print. Some larger prints are shipped in a rigid shipping tube with material to protect the finished print. Please see the store policy page for more information on shipping. On April 30, 1981, Gaston Glock applied for his 17th patent, which was at the heart of the pistol promised with several innovations. The gun is at the heart of today's Glock 17.

Although Mr. Glock today has more than 50 patents to his name, some of which were filed as far back as 1953, he was 51 years old when he filed the original patent in Austria for his G17 pistol. The polymer pistol was first adopted by the country's military, before becoming a global success among consumers, law enforcement and the military.

Filed from the Vienna address (Siebenbürgerstraße 16-12, A-1220) the final patent application covers about 40 drawings and includes about a dozen separate claims.

The patent application consisted of several pages and was filled with figures to detail the market features of the new design

The new pistol was largely designed and prototyped by Glock, who worked in his workshop out of his home garage in the small town of Deutsch-Wagram, just north of Vienna, where he first founded his company in 1963. .Before his pistol, the engineer patented and sold a cutting tool and field knife to the Austrian Army, and also lent his talents to the design of grenade boxes and machine gun belt buckles.

Mr. Glock was building the gun for the Austrian military and law enforcement, which meant he had to be ready to fire at a moment's notice in life-threatening situations. To address this critical need, Mr. Glock designed his pistol with three internal safeties—trigger, firing pin, and burst safety—to ensure that the pistol performs consistently and provides the best protection against accidental discharge. . The Mr. Glock met the additional requirements of the Austrian government by including a high-capacity magazine, lightweight materials, a continuous trigger pull, and a hammer-forged barrel. Mr. Glock realized that reliability lies in simplicity, so he designed his gun with a minimum of parts, reducing its complexity. Today, the average GLOCK pistol is made with 35 parts, far fewer than any other pistol on the market, making it durable, reliable, and easier to maintain.

In 1986, GLOCK opened its US headquarters in Smyrna, Georgia and showed off what we call today the 1st generation G17 in ads in national gun magazines in July with the slogan "Put the future in the palm of your hand." .

Today, the G17 Gen 5 MOS is the latest version of the pistol in production. They come standard with a Marksman barrel, recessed barrel crown, nDLC on the barrel and slide, ambidextrous slide stop, and the same 17+1 capacity as the original. Furthermore, the profile is indistinguishable from the original gun as shown in the 1981 patent drawings.
